Just when our baby boy had exhausted us to no end, he melted our hearts all over again with his first smile. I don’t think that any baby can be easy, but I do think that some are more trying than others. Our little boy most definitely fits into the latter category. But I’ll tell you, seeing his first smile was a feeling similar to the first time I held him. I’ll never forget it.
He has smiled from the beginning while he’s sleeping or passing gas or who knows why else…
But I’ve always thought you can tell a true smile by the eyes, which is how I knew this funny face was indeed his FIRST REAL SMILE!!! (at 5 1/2 weeks)
Well, actually, his first smile was given to his Daddy three days prior to this on Saturday April 24th. This was the first smile for Mommy and the first (and only) we’ve been able to catch a picture of. The picture isn’t clear, because I had to use my phone, the lighting was bad, and I was trying to hide the phone because it distracted him. I laugh so hard every time he smiles, because it’s almost like he can’t figure out how to do it quite right. He always smiles to the side with his mouth open and eyes squinted…. almost like a drunk old man.
Anyways, I’ve heard when you are stimulating a baby to keep it short, because they can get over stimulated quickly. I knew this. But I didn’t listen. He smiled til he cried.
And he has smiled til he cried every day since!
soo cute!! Hope to see y'all again soon!
