Seven months

Baby James, you are on your way to being one!

After feeling like time couldn’t have gone by slower the first five months, these last couple of months have flown by! You are so much fun! Some things about JW at the age of 7 months:

- Your first tooth (bottom right incisor) cut the gum and is peeking out at us! The discomfort this first little tooth has caused does not make us look forward to the rest of teething. Everything you get your hands on goes in your mouth. Everything.

- You have learned Lynyrd’s name as he puts a smile on your face more than anyone else.

- You still are soothed most by music and the outdoors. Your favorite CD is The Avett Brothers (given to us by Uncle Jude). I keep the CD in my car, and no matter why you are crying (tired, hungry, fussy, bored), as soon as that first song comes on, “I and love and you” you IMMEDIATELY stop crying, and will not start back as long as the CD stays on. Sometimes we try to switch the music after you are calmed (because I can only listen to it so many times), but you usually start crying again. You still love Billy Currington’s country song, “People are Crazy.” That’s been a favorite since you were a newborn.

- You sit up for long periods of time now, and you are trying to scoot and crawl. It won’t be long until I’m chasing you all over this house.

- You’ve become quite the picky eater. Ever since you tried fruit, you’d be happy to never see a vegetable again. When I give you green vegetables, you gag and choke. You can be quite dramatic. You still love anything orange, though. Butternut squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, dried apricots, peaches, cantaloupe. Must be the Florida Gator in you.

- You love to clap, and you light up when anyone says, “clap, clap, clap.”

- You’ve become attached to a lovey now and won’t sleep without it. With a little Avett Brothers, a lovey and a paci, you can’t resist a nap.

James, we love your growing personality. You have the sweetest disposition with a fiery ‘tude. You know what you like, and you know what you want. Good thing we’re around, because we know what you need. We love you, Sweet Baby James.
